BIG ENDORSEMENT: Progressive Maryland

Our campaign has received another major endorsement!

Progressive Maryland "is a statewide nonprofit advocacy organizing promoting social, economic, and racial justice. [w]ith over 120,000 individual members, supporters, and organizational affiliates statewide,..." including a chapter in Howard County. 

Some may remember that Progressive Maryland was one of the grassroots organizations that fought to pass Question A - a ballot measure approved by voters in Howard County in 2016 to fund public financing of local campaigns.

As someone who is not accepting campaign contributions from developers, I am proud to have this organization's endorsement.

If I am fortunate to be on the County Council, funding and establishing the public financing system will be a top priority.

As I have noted in the past, our campaign finance system is skewed. If we are to elect people who will represent the voters, they have to be funded by the voters.

Progressive Maryland also advocates on economic, social, and racial justice. These are all issues that I care deeply about. One of the areas my platform addresses is opportunity, with a specific focus on affordable housing, taking care of our older adult community, and planning for the automated future.

I am grateful for this endorsement. It is yet another validation that our campagin is talking about the issues people care about.
